Sweet Marguerites has developed a delicious sampling of five chocolates based on the principles of umami. Sometimes savory or tangy, never too sweet, these chocolates combine different ingredients to create chocolates that are both unusual and delightful… a perfect balance of flavors and a perfect way to experience umami!
The Selection
Malted Bacon - Just the right touch of smoky bacon, in a malted barley ganache and topped with a malted bacon powder. This bacon chocolate is so delicious and pairs perfectly with beer!
Plum Sake - A creamy white chocolate center, flavored with a rich plum molasses and sake, enrobed in our signature dark chocolate.
Sweet Potato Caramel - Rich and creamy; sweet potato, caramel, and white chocolate are combined to give a luxurious mouth feel. Panko bread crumbs give this chocolate a nice crunch.
Sesame-Tahini - toasted sesame seeds and a little bit of sesame oil give this milk chocolate center a rich and delicious nutty taste. Enrobed in dark chocolate and topped with more toasted sesame seeds.
Green Tea & Ginger - Steeped with an intense green tea, this chardon (a spiky truffle) is nicely balanced with pops of crystallized ginger and the citrus touch of yuzu.
